The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office and the Department of Fish and Wildlife have reached a settlement with Chevron for the 2021 Richmond oil spill.
In February 2021, a hole in the pipeline at the Richmond Refinery Marine Terminal spilled 760 gallons of oil in the Richmond Long Wharf.
According to the settlement, Chevron has agreed to pay $200,000. The money will be spit between the Office of Spill Prevention and Response, wildlife and nature funds, and to the Coast Guard.
