November 7, 2022: Evacuations Ordered Following Gasoline Spill

Local residents in Norfolk, CT were evacuated after a tanker truck spilled a large amount of gasoline onto Route 44. The tanker truck overturned and dumped 8,200 gallons of gasoline onto the roadway. Authorities have confirmed that some of the gasoline has reached the sewer drain. Several road closures and detours will remain in place for up to 72 hours. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
