The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is investigating a possible oil spill near the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Reservation. On Wednesday, a contractor working around line 5 pipeline when contaminated soil was discovered. The agency was not able to locate an active leak and believes the contamination was from a previous discharge. An investigation is currently underway but no additional soil staining or petroleum odors have been detected.
