The Mansfield Fire Department safely evacuated 260 employees following a nitric acid release at Dura-Tech on Monday. The cause of the release is under investigation. Exposure to nitric acid can cause skin irritation and breathing problems. Four employees were treated by paramedics for exposure to the chemical but didn’t require further treatment. Two of the employees had already showered and changed clothes by the time paramedics arrived.
