July 26, 2019: Norfolk Southern Train Carrying Ethanol Derailed in North Carolina

A Norfolk Southern train carrying tankers loaded with thousands of gallons of ethanol derailed in Greensboro North Carolina on Thursday evening. No injuries were reported and none of the tankers leaked during the incident. The cause of the derailment is currently unknown. Oakland Avenue from Holden Road to Lindell Road has reopened but will temporarily close again when the crews arrive to upright the tankers and rail cars.
