A CSX internal report obtained by News 4 reveals that a mechanical device is why a train derailed in Berry Hill.
The six cars that derailed tore apart tracks that were dangerously close to a parking area for those people that were waiting for the train to cross.
There was a flash caught on camera by a passerby that occurred exactly where the report shows the accident happened.
This internal report shows the cause of the accident as “side bearing had insufficient clearance”.
