Thursday night a CSX train carrying three locomotives and 110 coal cars derailed in Abbeville County, South Carolina.
There were 14 cars that derailed but no injuries and no hazardous materials were involved, however, some coal was spilled from five of the coal cars. Crews were working throughout the night re-railing cars and repairing track. There is no timeline for the completion of work.
The owner of S&T Trucking and Demolition said the derailment occurred about a mile and a half from where crews were gathering on Briarwood Road off of Old Calhoun Falls Road.
