The Association of American Railroads and The American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association submitted an application to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration seeking a limited exemption from the maximum driving time requirements of the hours of service regulations.
The application specifically focuses on unplanned events that may occur that would require the employees to work beyond their normal work hours. Interested parties may submit comments until January 17, 2019.
