The Federal Railroad Administration issued a notice to explain the reason BNSF Railway’s Test Program, which was designed to evaluate whether or not different types of automated track inspection technologies are effective, received approval. The notice will also cover the temporary and limited suspension of one of the federal railroad safety requirements that was needed in order to conduct the testing.
