In response to a petition requesting reconsideration of the implementation date regarding the regulations on training, qualification, and oversight for safety-related railroad employees, FRA has amended the final rule to be effective on June 26, 2018.
This rule establishes minimum training standards for each category and subcategory of safety-related railroad employees and required railroad carriers, contractors, and subcontractors to submit training programs to FRA for approval.
