A temporary shelter in place order was issued following a chemical leak at the Jennie-O plant in Barron, WI. The chemical leak was reported on Monday morning. Two employees at the plant were treated at a local hospital for possible exposure to Anatox and Lysine.
The chemical leak resulted in a poisonous vapor being released into the building. Authorities evacuated the building and no further injuries were reported. Afternoon weather patterns helped keep the chemical vapor on the company’s property. The shelter in place order was lifted later that afternoon.
