A single vehicle accident on I-10 in Culberson County, TX has left one person dead and an unknown hazardous materials spill. Last Friday, the driver of a tractor trailer drifted into the median for an unknown reason. The truck ended up on its side and the contents spilled onto the interstate.
The Texas Department of Public Safety, TxDOT, and Lone Star Hazmat, a hazardous materials clean-up company, responded to the scene. The driver was identified as Nikolai Vidnliev.
The president of Lone Star Hazmat said “During the (testing) process, we were able to identify that there were multiple different types of containers with flammable liquids and corrosive materials. Once we’ve identified what the material is, we go in and transfer the remaining liquids into special containers. Once that’s completed, we’ll go back in and we’ll do some soil remediation.”
