September 8, 2022: Evacuation Ordered After Hazmat Spill in Ohio

An evacuation was ordered after a tanker truck leaked an unknown amount of hazardous materials in Guernsey County, OH. The truck was stopped at a Go Mart on SR 285. The leak contained a mixture of nitric acid and hydrochloric acid. The immediate area was evacuated and local residents were asked to avoid the area while authorities cleaned up the spill. Nitric acid exposure can cause severe burns to the skin.
