A Union Pacific freight train hauling hazardous materials derailed in Bonner Springs, KS on Friday. Nine of the twenty-one derailed cars were low-pressure tank cars carrying isobutane. The Kansas City Fire Department evaluated the derailed cars and determined there were no leaks or spills. Officials have stated there is no threat to the public or the environment at this time.
