June 3, 2022: Small Oil Spill Contained in Oklahoma City

The Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to an oil spill on Wednesday. A local resident called officials to report oil in a stream near SE 59th St. in Oklahoma City. Authorities identified a petroleum product in the stream and placed booms in the water. An investigation determined the cause of the leak to be a damaged crude oil holding tank nearby. Multiple booms have been deployed in an attempt to prevent the oil from reaching the Oklahoma River.
