June 1, 2022: Derailment Dumps Coal into Mississippi River

A Canadian Pacific freight train derailed in Lansing, IA on Wednesday morning. Ten cars loaded with coal derailed. One car spilled an unknown amount of coal into the Mississippi River. The derailment occurred near the Lansing Power Plant. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is monitoring the scene.
