The Wadena Fire Department ordered the entire city of Wadena to shelter-in-place for several hours following a massive fire at Minnesota Valley Irrigation. The fire broke out around 3 pm on Monday afternoon. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
The Wadena Police Department issued the following statement “The cloud of smoke is not dangerous to breath in, however we are asking residents to shelter in place. We recommend that you close your windows and shut off your air conditioning. We ask everybody to avoid the area as it is causing congestion with emergency equipment.”
