April 18, 2022: Pemex Refinery Burned in Mexico for 24 Hours

Salina Cruz declares a state of emergency and moves to shelter due to a fire  at a refinery in Oaxaca; There are 150 families at risk - Behous

A fuel tank at the Pemex Refinery in Salina Cruz burned for 24 hours before officials were able to extinguish the fire. The fire initially broke out on Friday night in the TV-102 fuel tank of the refinery. Flames reached as high as 100 meters. The Mexican Navy brought in mechanical foam to cool down the tank and protect the other tanks. There were no injuries reported.
