March 24, 2022: A Dozen Fire Departments Respond to NY Chemical Plant Fire

On Wednesday morning, a massive fire erupted at a chemical plant owned by Thatcher Company in Williamson, NY. Thatcher company manufactures various chemicals used for water treatment, food manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals. The fire broke out in an area of the building used to store empty drums and totes.
A dozen fire departments responded to the blaze. Route 104 was shut down and Several firefighters were transported to local hospitals after suffering minor injuries and smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
