December 20, 2021: Train Hits Vehicle in Wasco, CA

Driver killed in Wasco, CA when their vehicle was struck by a BNSF freight train.

One person has died after their vehicle was struck by a train and caught fire in Wasco Thursday morning. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office and Kern County Fire Department responded to the scene.
The incident happened around 9:37 a.m. at the intersection of 6th and G Streets in Wasco, CA. According to BNSF Railway, the train originated out of Texas and was on its way to Stockton, Calif. The cause of the incident is under investigation. The sheriff’s office is asking the public and drivers to avoid the area of 6th and G Streets.
