July 13, 2021: Union Pacific Derailed in Brewster, Minnesota

A Union Pacific freight train derailed near the New Vision Cooperative Fertilizer plant on Saturday afternoon. A total of 16 cars derailed during the incident. A small amount of isooctane leaked from one of the cars but there is no threat to the surrounding environment.
Kristen South, Senior Director of Corporate Communications and Media Relations for Union Pacific, issued the following statement via email on Sunday. “Union Pacific crews are working to clear the cars and make any repairs necessary.”
