Union Pacific Railroad has submitted a petition to FRA for waiver of compliance from 49 CFR 232.203, Training requirements. The purpose of the petition is to get permission to use its Class I Brake Test Simulation proficiency demonstration as the “hands-on” portion of refresher training. Union Pacific claims the blended rake system training curriculum exceeds the training requirements in the regulations.
Interested parties may submit comments on the petition until June 11, 2021. All comments must include the docket number.
