A CSX freight train collided with a car early Tuesday morning at the crossing in the 7500 block of Lake Drive in Baltimore County, MD. The driver was seriously injured and was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center with what is considered life threatening injuries.
The crew onboard the train was not injured and the train did not derail. CSX released a statement following the incident. “At CSX safety is our highest priority in communities where we operate and incidents like this reinforce the need for the public to use extra caution around railroad tracks….Assume a train is coming at any moment, from any direction. And never try to beat a train- saving a few minutes is not worth risking your life.”
