Approximately 15 BNSF rail cars derailed in Grant County, WI on Monday. One of the derailed cars fell into the Mississippi River just south of Glen Haven but thankfully there were no reported injuries. Officials believe a rock/mudslide was the cause of the derailment and have stated there is no threat to public safety. US Fish and Wildlife and Wisconsin DNR will be assessing the situation for any environmental impact.
