A train carrying coal in Chesapeake, Va. from Stric, Va. derailed in the Portlock area of the city.
Personnel from Norfolk Southern were re-railing the cars and cleaning up the spill.
Amtrak service was cancelled to and from Norfolk for the remainder of the day.
No injuries were reported and the derailment is under investigation.
