Crews have begun clean-up efforts following a derailment in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma yesterday. Sixteen Union Pacific rail cars and one locomotive derailed around 6:30 am just south of McAlester. Thankfully there were no reported injuries and all the cars were empty so there were no hazardous materials involved in the accident.
Union Pacific has issued an apology to the community for any inconvenience the derailment and cleanup may cause.
