The North County Transit District has submitted a petition for a waiver of compliance regarding FRA’s Confidential Close Call Reporting System pilot project. The purpose of the project is to encourage certified operating crew members to report any close calls and to protect the employees and railroad from discipline or sanctions that would arise from the incidents being reported. North County Transit District is seeking to shield the reporting employees and the railroad from mandatory punitive sanctions that might arise from the incidents being reported.
Interested parties may submit comments on the petition until December 3, 2018.
