The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is requesting comments on a petition submitted by the American Trucking Association. The petition requests a determination that California’s meal and rest break rules are preempted by federal law.
One of the issues that FMCSA is specifically seeking comments on is what effect California’s meal and rest requirements will have on interstate commerce. Interested parties may submit comments until October 29, 2018.
