September 28, 2018: BNSF Train Derails in Colorado

Louis Vazquez, the driver of a semi truck that caused a BNSF freight train to derail in Colorado, has been cited for failing to yield the right of way when proceeding from a stop sign.
According to Colorado State Patrol Officers, Mr. Vazquez was driving a tanker filled with saltwater near Keenseburg. He pulled out in front of the train forcing the crew to initiate an emergency stop which caused an estimated 123 railcars and three engines to derail. There were no reported injuries.
