BNSF Railway submitted a request for a test waiver to investigate whether or not the 92 day interval for calibration of the air flow method indicator can be safely extended to 184 days for locomotives that are equipped with NYAB CCB II air brake systems.
BNSF has spent the last three years collecting data that would support the extended interval calibration.
Interested parties may submit comments on this request until November 17, 2016.
