Norfolk Southern Railway submitted a petition to FRA requesting an expansion to the area inspected during the stop/start rail testing. The initial waiver of compliance limited the testing to certain designated tracks. Norfolk Southern Railway believes expanding the territory used during the testing process will enable the rail testing to be done in a more efficient and frequent manner.
Interested parties may submit comments regarding the waiver of compliance petition until June 9, 2016.
