In an effort to reduce the economic burden on the rail industry and state and local authorities, FRA has decided to re-examine its current regulation on the use of locomotive train horns at public crossings. FRA is asking for comments on whether the current requirements should be modified, streamlined, or expanded. Comments may be submitted until July 5, 2016.
