On July 7, 2015 Norfolk Southern Corp. submitted a petition to the FRA asking for approval to discontinue or modify Control Point Raitt on the Buchanan Branch, milepost D-16.3 in Weller Virginia as it is no longer needed. The power-operated switch will be replaced with a hand-operated switch. This change will not have any effect on the current operating rules for that area. While the FRA has no plans to schedule a public hearing on the matter, interested persons can submit written views, data, or comments by October 26, 2015. Communications must include the docket number FRA-2015-0083.
