On July 24, 2015 the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) received approval from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for the Emergency Processing request for the collection of information titled Positive Train Control Implementation Status Update Questionnaire. The approval will be valid until January 31, 2016. FRA is seeking to extend that approval for another three years in order to allow its personnel to continue to monitor all affected railroad implementation of PTC on their mainline systems beyond the statutory and regulatory deadline of December 31, 2015. FRA is seeking public comments on certain aspects of the activities before submitting the information collection requirements to OMB. Comments will be accepted until October 5, 2015.
