The Everett Railroad Company has petitioned the Federal Railroad Administration for a waiver of compliance from 49 CFR parts 215 and 224.
Everett Railroad is seeking a waiver for stenciling, reflectorization, and bolster without an identification mark or pattern number on one box car. According to the petition, the boxcar is only used as a historic relic in conjunction with tourism and excursion train tours. During operation the car is not loaded more than 50% and is operated under restricted speed.
Interested parties may submit comments on the petition until August 26, 2019.
