February 22, 2021: Petition for Waiver of Compliance

Norfolk Southern Corp. (NS) has petitioned FRA for a waiver of compliance from 49 CFR 236.566, Locomotive of each
train operating in train stop, train control or cab signal territory; equipped.
Specifically, NS is seeking to operate positive train control (PTC) equipped locomotives, that are not equipped with cab signal system equipment, in cab signal system territory.
Interested parties may submit comments on the petition until April 8, 2021. All comments must include the docket number.
