November 20, 2020: Petition for Waiver of Compliance

Illinois Central Railroad Company, for itself and on behalf of the
U.S. railroad subsidiaries operating under the Canadian National Railway Company (CN), petitioned FRA for a waiver of compliance. The petition seeks permission to use software technology to implement a virtual three-dimensional simulation as an alternative to satisfy the ‘‘hands-on’’ portion of periodic refresher training.
CN feels this type of training will allow its employees to perform Class I freight air brake tests with no impact on safety. Interested parties may submit comments on the petition until January 4, 2021. All comments must include the docket number.
