January 13, 2021: 2019 Annual Civil Penalty Report

PHMSA processed a total of 218 enforcement cases and 253 tickets during the calendar year 2019.
These enforcement actions resulted in a total collection amount of $2,615,244 in civil penalties.
Investigators inspect any company or individual that offers or carries hazardous materials for transportation, or manufacture, maintenance, repair, recondition or test packages authorized for the transporting hazardous materials.
