August 2, 2020: Freight Train Derailed in New Florence, MO

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to a freight train derailment in New Florence, MO in the area of Highway WW and Franklin Street early Sunday morning. The cause of the derailment is under investigation but no injuries were reported and no hazardous materials were on the train at the time of the derailment.
Clean-up efforts are underway and expected to take several days. New Florence residents that live on the east side of the tracks are only permitted to leave the area via Sunbeam Road or Hudson Road to Ellis Road which will bring you out to the Service Road.
