The Environmental Protection Agency is finalizing the regulatory updates for the identification of ignitable hazardous waste under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and to modernize the RCRA test methods, which currently require the use of mercury thermometers.
The goal of the revisions is to provide clarity to hazardous waste identification, improve compliance, and provide flexibility in testing requirements.
The final rule will be effective sixty days after the official version is published in the Federal Register.
