November 13, 2019: BNSF Derailment in Southwest Iowa
A Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad train derailed in Red Oak, Iowa around 4:00 am. Approximately 20-30 coal cars derailed under the Boxelder Avenue bridge. There were no injuries reported and no hazardous materials were involved. The cause of the derailment is currently under investigation.
Burr Oak Avenue will remain closed to local traffic until the clean up has been completed.
