September 29, 2019: Train Derails in Marion County, OR

A train derailment in Salem, Oregon caused a power outage for local residents and started a small brush fire. Nine railcars left the track and broke a utility pole. No injuries were reported and firefighters were able to put the brush fire out with no further issue. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
