A Norfolk Southern train derailed in Vivian, West Virginia over the weekend. A total of 20 railcars left the tracks and some fell into a neighboring creek during the derailment. According to Kimball Fire Chief, Jimmy Gianato, the cars had been carrying hazardous materials previously but were empty at the time of the accident. Crews will continue to monitor the area and the derailed cars to ensure there was not leak of any remaining material.
