A CSX freight train derailed near the Specialty Granules LLC plant on Tuesday afternoon in Blue Ridge Summit, PA. According to Chief Dave Martin, of the Fountaindale Volunteer Fire Department, a total of 14 cars derailed and 6 of those ended up in 40 feet of water in a retention pond outside the plant.
After a thorough inspection of the cars, it was determined that there were no leaks or spills. No injuries were reported.
