
Two Union Pacific employees were killed when the train they were on collided with equipment on the track in Mecca, CA. A total of seven cars derailed during the incident. NTSB is currently investigating the accident. The names of the deceased have not be released at this time.
Union Pacific’s Communications Manager Susan Stevens said “We are deeply saddened…Our thoughts are with the employees’ families and coworkers. The train operated by the two employees entered a siding where it collided with equipment occupying the siding.”
