On Sunday morning a BNSF freight train derailed down an embankment and caught fire in Burlington, ND. The train was carrying mixed freight which included hazardous materials. Those cars were not involved in the derailment or fire. Of the eleven cars that derailed, seven of them caught fire. There were no injuries but local residents were evacuated.
Crews are struggling to extinguish the fire. The trucks are having a difficult time navigating the wet fields as they try to reach the derailment.
