January 4, 2021: (FR) Rulemaking Procedures Update

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is making changes to its rulemaking procedures by revising the process for preparing and adopting rules and petitions.
In addition, the agency has added several new definitions and made various administrative corrections to the rulemaking procedures.
The final rule will be effective as of March 1, 2021. Any petitions for reconsideration of this rule must be submitted no later than February 1, 2021.
