FRA issued a final rule revising the regulations regarding the minimum safety requirements for railroad tracks. The final rule will be effective as of October 7, 2020.
Some of the revisions being made include allowing inspection of rail using continuous rail testing, allowing the use of flange-bearing frogs in crossing diamonds, and relaxing the guard check gage limits on heavy-point frogs used in Class 5 track.
