August 18, 2020: BNSF Train Derailment in Montana Sparks Small Fire

Twelve BNSF freight cars derailed near United Grain, located just south of Conrad, Montana on Monday evening. There were no injuries reported but the derailment did start a fire in a nearby field. The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
Local resident, Jamie Mullins, witnessed the incident and stated “Thankfully some cowboys with a water truck came and got it pretty under control and then the fire trucks came and got the rest. It was wild.”
