July 15, 2020: Petition for Waiver of Compliance

CSX has petitioned FRA for a waiver of compliance regarding 49 CFR 225.25(h), which requires monthly listings of employee reportable injuries, occupational illnesses, and fatalities be ‘‘posted in a conspicuous location’’ at each establishment where a railroad reasonably expects its employees to report during a 12-month period, and that employees ‘‘have the opportunity to observe the posted list.’’
CSX is requesting permission to instead post the list on a web portal that would allow employees to access the information from either a computer terminal or their own personal devices. A paper copy would be provided to any employee that requests one.
Interested parties may submit comments on the petition until August 31, 2020. All comments must include the docket number.
